How IRCP works

IMPACT Rep College Prep was created to aid IMPACTs juniors and seniors as they begin their journey to college.  IRCP aims to prepare students as they apply for colleges, apply for financial aid and choose their career paths. IRCP consists of workshops, that prepare soon to be High School grads with trips to college fairs, mini overnight college tours, personal statement writing, resume writing, interview prep, and more.

Career choice & job readiness

There have also been events surrounding career choice and job readiness, as well as college choice and what to expect, and even events/workshops geared to parents, hosted by IMPACT Rep College Prep.  We have also been able to give small scholarships to graduating seniors who have gone through the College Prep program and hope to grow the size of the scholarships in the near future.

Academic goals

IMPACT members set academic goals of maintaining a minimum 80% average and attending college. They are required to have at least one college they plan to attend and an understanding of why that particular college is their choice, no matter what their age or grade level. Some of these colleges have included: Yale, Columbia, NYU, Spelman, John Jay, etc. IMPACT members set career goals that include: Computer Science, Acting, Nursing, Teaching and more.  IRCP has expanded to include tutoring for all members in need, as well as college prep for all high school students, not just juniors and seniors.  We have since been able to serve approximately 25-40 members a year and continue our efforts, to be the bridge that transports their goals from vision to fruition.
